TIMELINE OF PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

DAME MARIE CLAY D.B,E. F.R.S.N.Z.
was a distinguished researcher from New Zealand known for her work in global educational literacy. Marie's research was not understood by New Zealand teachers who still think that working with letters and words is the key to literacy

J.W GATHERCOLE
British reading researcher

Dr R.G HECKELMANN: American neurological learning researc

JIM LAUGHTON  Principal of Richmond Road school 1975- 88
Richmond Road school, in Ponsonby, Auckland demonstrated how an informed theory of multicultural education was successfully realized in practice for the benefit of disadvantaged children

PROFESSOR STEPHEN MAY : New Zealand researcher -Social learning  1992-
Stephen May is Professor of Education in Te Puna Wānanga.

JOHN CALLAHAN  T.T,.C Research and development 2004-

Becoming a teacher at Richmond Road school, I saw the dignity that was given by Jim Laughton to the children and Maori, Samoan and Cook Island  communities. I saw the pride and self-respect created by their sense of purpose and togetherness, and the fully resourced programme. However,I felt the language - literacy programme needed more development. The programme I created from Jim Laughton's programme became far more effective, and consequential, than I had ever imagined.

A FEW LETTERS OF THANKS

Dear John,
Sorry for the late reply, was very busy with exams and work. I really appreciate your emails, and I can really see John's progress. It is absolutely great to have you as his tutor. :)

I will be away to China for 10 days, if there is any queries please contact me through email instead of phone calls.

Furthermore, John will also be taking a holiday vacation back to China to visit families from 10th December onwards until early February. Probably may need to pause the tuition routine.

Sorry if this may cause any hassle. Have a good day!

Best regards,
K

Hi John,
Great to hear from you and so early!!!
Bryan has settled really well into St Peters Cambridge 'like a duck to water!'.  We have to ring him otherwise we don't hear from him, he just loves it.   Was home a couple of weeks ago for long weekend (they have these once a month) and he's coming home again this weekend.
His results to date haven't been the best all except for 'his reading' he has been put in the top reading group, which is just amazing and an absolute credit to you!!  The school is addressing and working on the other areas which have been a bit to do with attitude and maturity it seems now he's on track (I seriously blew the wind up him!).  As you know he's a bright boy just needs to be guided in right direction.
I've just had an awful thought, hopefully I didn't miss any payments to you during his tutoring.  I did put in a automatic payment but never really went back to check it hadn't ended due to dates or anything

MAY,2014

I've seen John for a few weeks now and already i've had huge improvement on my reading, memory, punctuation, writing and reading comprehension.. I am looking to join the New Zealand police but I needed up-skilling on my literacy skills. With a few more lessons John will help me achieve this level I need to proceed with my application. He is patient and very friendly, he makes learning fun how it should be. I am always excited for his lessons because i learn something new each session.

Kind regards
Sione .
